Pet profiles and the Groom Sheet
A pet’s profile is what you read before you touch the dog: how to handle them, their health and vaccines, photos from past visits, and notes from past grooms. The Groom Sheet opens beside it, with a drawing of the dog you can mark notes on.
Ask Groomr
“Bella is nervous with clippers. Approach from the side.”
“Max is up to 32 lbs now and he’s allergic to oatmeal shampoo”
Groomr updates the pet’s profile with what you tell it. It can change breed, size, weight, age, gender, temperament, allergies, medications, medical conditions, vet name and phone, handling and behavior notes, general notes, and preferred trim style. If two pets share a name, it asks which owner.
Attach a photo: “This is Bella after her groom”
Groomr saves the photo to the pet’s photos. See Photos, voice and dictation.
“Delete Rex from Jane Doe’s profile”
Groomr asks you to approve before the pet is deleted. See Approvals.
Vaccines have their own page: Vaccines.
Or do it yourself

Edit a pet
- On the pet’s profile, select Edit pet.
- Open the section you want: Identity, Breed & coat, Size & weight, Temperament & handling, or Medical.
- Select Save changes.
Add a photo
- On the pet’s profile, go to Photos.
- Select Add photo and pick one or more photos.
Photos taken during an appointment go to that visit’s album. Others go to the pet’s own photos.
Mark notes on the dog in the Groom Sheet
- On the pet’s profile, select the pencil (New note) at the top of Notes. If the pet has no notes yet, you can also select Draw on the dog.
- The Groom Sheet opens beside the profile, titled with the pet’s name.
- Tap the spot on the dog and type your note. Groomr records the body part, such as “Right chest”, charted as the dog’s own left and right.
- To mark a problem, open Issues and pick a stamp: Matte, Hotspot, Mole, Tick, Wound, Sensitive, Cowlick, Scar, Nail issue or Fleas.
- Select Close (the X) when you’re done.
The other drawing tools are Note, Line, Box, Circle, Arrow and Text. Undo removes your last mark, and Clear all removes them all. Selecting a note in the Notes list opens the Groom Sheet on that mark.
Good to know
- Handle with care appears when a pet has a warning on file: Muzzle Required, Epileptic, Diabetic, Heart Condition, Blind, Deaf or Separation Anxiety, or an Aggression Level, Temperament or Behavior Notes entry that isn’t routine (for example, “Easy going” doesn’t count). You choose which of these fields you collect under Settings → Business → Clients & Pets.
- Allergies show in red under Health & safety.
- Notes marked Always applies are standing instructions for every groom. Notes marked From the owner came from the client.
- Photos can be JPEG, PNG or HEIC (an iPhone’s default), up to 5 MB each and 20 at a time.
- A pet’s owner can’t be changed from Edit pet.
- Viewing a pet needs View Clients (
clients.view). Editing needs Edit Clients (clients.edit). Every default role can edit pets except Subcontractor.
