Modifiers
Modifiers adjust a service’s price for the pet in front of you: a doodle coat takes longer than a smooth one, and a nervous first-timer takes more care. Modifiers are organized into groups, such as Coat Type, Temperament and Add-on services.
Ask Groomr
“I need modifiers for coat condition”
Groomr adds the modifiers to a draft of your pricing and opens it in a Pricing setup panel beside the conversation. It asks for the amounts if you haven’t given them. Nothing changes until you click Save pricing.
Or do it yourself
To add a group:
- Go to Settings → Commerce → Services & Pricing.
- Under Modifier Groups, click Add Group.
- Fill in Group name and Description.
- Next to Add a modifier, click Add, then type the modifier’s name and its adjustment. Repeat for each modifier in the group.
- Click Save.
To change a group, click its row, make your changes and click Save. To remove one modifier, click the trash icon on its row.
To reorder your groups, drag a group by the handle on its left.
To delete a group, open it and press and hold Delete group until the bar fills. The button tells you how many modifiers go with it.
Good to know
Percent or fixed. Each modifier is either a percent or a fixed amount:
| Kind | Shown as | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Percent | % | Long/Fluffy coat, 25: adds 25% of the base price |
| Fixed | ¢ | Teeth brushing, 1000: adds $10.00 |
A fixed amount is entered in cents, so $10.00 is 1000.
New modifiers start as percent. The editor doesn’t have a switch to turn a modifier into a fixed amount. To set one up as a fixed amount, ask Groomr to help you set up your pricing.
Modifiers add up. Percent modifiers are all worked out on the base price, then any fixed amounts are added. See how a final price is worked out.
Who can do it. Owners and Admins can change modifiers. Other roles can view them.
